Museum Day Downtown

This is a beautiful park area just outside the museum.
The original clock from the Courthouse, the former use of this building.
Learning about Florida...cracker style.

Aunt Dee- Dee enjoyed the day with us...
One of the field trips we took last year was to a pioneer settlement in Barberville. The spinning was a favorite for the girls & I.

I remember these old machines.
The lighting is poor in this picture. That is me as the judge and Madi & Mia on each side. This felt so familiar in relation to my everyday life. :)

This one room was set up with tables & lots of games. The girls tried Twister, Trouble, & Hungry Hippos.
We enjoyed a game of...Sorry!

The kids corner courtesy of Barnes & Noble...we really want some bean bags for the play room.
The day ended with lunch and a ride on the bus downtown...FUN!!!

What's Your Decorating Style?
The HomeGoods StyleScope is a very fun quiz and even has a $5000 shopping spree drawing you can enter at the end. It is pretty accurate too. Although our home is far from this currently. Have fun with it...you may even get a few pointers you had never thought of. HomeGoods StyleScope - I'm a Bohemian Casual
you are a Bohemian Casual
You are interested in creating a place where people feel relaxed. You have a variety of interests and influences and so appreciate different styles, cultures, and objects. Your home is cozy, with comfy chairs, throw pillows and places to set a drink or a book. But it also feels creative and visually intriguing, because you have an artist's eye that allows you to find objects that appeal to you in a unique and personal way—whether from your travels or from a local shop. This gives your home a feeling of being laid-back, and maybe even a bit quirky with its mix of pieces—some of which are classic, some handmade, some ethnic, and some just rich in meaning to you.
You value comfort. Your home is a warm and open friendly place, and you feel happiest when everyone is cared for and relaxed in your space. Elements like pillows, throws, overstuffed furniture, and good lighting set the mood. You may also enjoy layering different fabrics or mixing patterns to create a cozy effect.

Free Photobook

I finally took advantage of the free photobook offer from Shutterfly. The last one expired before I could manage to make one. I did have to pay a difference of $.43 per page for going over 20 pages. No complaints though, I am very excited to receive this in the mail.

Family Fun Night

We had a wonderful day Saturday afternoon painting. We had bought some wooden cutouts at Michael's as gifts for Uncle Carl's Birthday and for Grandparents Day on Sunday.
We had so much fun together doing this! The girls did not even mind having Mom & Dad help out with the fine details. We talked about buying some of the smaller ones and painting them as ornaments for gift giving at Christmas. I love giving handmade gifts!
Here are the finished masterpieces...
Grandma-butterfly & puppy~ love of outdoors & dogs
Uncle Carl- dinosaur & turtle~ love of History & fun
I decided to paint a picture frame to insert one of the pics from a recent cruise my brother-in-law & sister took to the Caribbean. I used scrapbook stickers to play up the theme a bit.
The finished look...oops...I forgot to get a shot with the picture in it!It was a very nice day and I was grateful for the time we had together. Painting has always been so relaxing for me and I am glad that the girls enjoy it too. The evening ended with the baking of several dozen Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies and two Peanut Butter Pies into the wee hours of the night for our family gathering the next day. Thankful I was to have so much help from my Hubby...he is so good to me!
Thank you Lord for my family and all that you give to me each day!
