This week is titled Your Child's Conscience. It talks about the primary & moral conscience and establishing the Moral Warehouse in your child. Psalm 119:11 is broken down with this topic of instruction. We later took a Prohibitive Conscience Test. Wow-that was very interesting and explained a lot of things...looking back!!
Key Principle- A deficient moral warehouse forces the child to make moral decisions based on the fear of reproof or hope of praise, rather than the merits of the situation. Because there is no moral principle to stir the heart, fear of reproof and not the love of virtue drives the child to action. The properly trained conscience knows wrong even when there is no signpost saying it's wrong.
Homework this week is to share with the class a few examples of negative & positive training that took place this week. Share the differences we saw in our children's behavior, as well.
