Build-a-Bear

We had an great opportunity last night to help out with the preparation of donating 400 bears to the childrens hospital in our city. The company I have insurance through invited us to participate in this event at Build-a-Bear. The girls got to create & take home a bear and we received gift cards for Chick-fil-A...yummy!!

Week 7
This week is Character Development: Respect for Age. Honoring age in your actions...opening doors for them, offer your seat. Teach your children 1 Corinthians 13:5- Love is not rude.Titus 3:2- Be courteous to all men. Shyness is no excuse for disrespect...it is rude. The interrupt rule is introduced. Whatever happened to Mr. & Mrs.?
Key Principle-Love is not rude.
Homework- Teach the interrupt rule and share with the class how long it took your child to routinely use. Share an act of kindness demonstrated by your children to an elder without prompting.

Bible Study Tomorrow...
School Days
While the girls were doing their seatwork I was busy in the kitchen. I am still happily floating from this past weekend!! God really pressed on my heart about our love walk. There are many areas in my own life that are suffering...not bringing glory & honor to our Lord. GOD is Love...enough said! :)
Week 6
This week is titled Character Development:Respect for Authority and Parents. The six natural relationships that provide context for character development are: Authority, Parents, Age (elders), Siblings/ Peers, Property and Nature. They discuss respect & submission to authority & obedience, submission and honor to our parents. Do we honor our parents out of duty or devotion?
One interesting point was the 5/1 ratio- 5 hours teaching moral behavior vs. 1 hour TV. We need to monitor the amount of TV time we allow our kids. TV appeals to the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the private life.
Key Principle- Parenting in the mind of God is a Kingdom Issue.
Homework- Do we honor our parents out of duty or devotion?
Observe and give a couple examples of blatant offenses witnessed during the week at work, school, driving down the road or while shopping.

Our Marriage Getaway Weekend

This picture is of the LONG hallway at the B & B leading to our room. This is a very old, historical building that housed soldiers during two wars. It had wood floors...and antiques throughout.

It was really neat to see this hanging on the wall in our room. This scripture was the emphasis for the weekend...1 Corinthians 13. All the rooms there are different too.

This is the look on my face when Roy showed me the roach on the wall while he was using the bathroom. It was about 4 or 5 inches long...Yuuccckkkk!!!!

This old instrument was near one of the windows in the kitchen area. Mia would have loved seeing this!!
