Sledding- Florida Style

Who says you have to have snow to go sledding? When you live in the hills all you need is ice in the winter or even just an ordinary cardboard box will do the rest of the year. Here are several shots that we had to share. Such old-fashioned fun!!

Yes Ma'am, Yes Sir...SNOW in Florida!!

All the blue is snow...covering our little town on 1-9-2010!

We were so excited to see our state covered in blue that we got up early and headed north for Gainesville. We actually had a better chance of seeing it had we stayed home though. There was more precipitation in our area than there was north of us.

On our way back traveling through Ocala, we were so excited to see snow on the roof tops...even if it was just a little. :)

This is our van a day or two later. This cold snap lasted for about 14 straight days here. Our house stayed frigid pretty much the duration of that time. These FL homes just aren't built for those temps!!

 Our van covered in ice.
Our favorite radio station...iced over on our window. :)
The best part of winter...the sunsets!!

God , you are so Good!!!

1st Weekend of 2010

We started off the New Year with a trip to the orange groves to do some picking. Bright, beautiful oranges to squeeze for some fresh OJ...Yummy!! It was a wonderful family activity and budget friendly too.

It was a gorgeous, crisp, sunny day...

 The pickers in action :)

We were all bundled up from all the COLD weather FL was having.

When Roy & I were dating we used to go hang out in some groves close to Disney. A friend of his managed them so this brought back so many good memories. It was really neat to share in this activity with our children.

Aren't these just beautiful?? :)
