First Day of School!!!

We were excited to get started early this year so we could have a cushion to have more time off either at Christmas or for going out of town for mini getaways throughout the year. The girls are both learning cursive this year...I am trusting the Lord with that!!! It is going to be a great year and I look forward to watching them as they grow & learn so much!!!

This was right before we got started!

Come on Mom...let's start!!! No more pictures...LOL!! :)

This was at the end of our first day on Monday with some of their work posted on our 'new addition' to the schoolroom this year, the bulletin board!!! I really wanted one of these last year...God's timing is perfect though :)

It was a great day and I feel so very blessed to have the opportunity to stay home and do this... I pray that it is something I will never take for granted!! :)

Catching Up...

This is Ava...our neighbors new puppy...isn't she adorable? :)

The girls next to the town they had built using legos & chess pieces!!

Madeline was busy setting up the house and putting everyone to bed!! :)

This was a salad we had for dinner...Roy showed me how to make the croutons from scratch...I overcooked them a bit! It also had fresh grated cheese, hard boiled egg, fresh tomatoes, (too many I think!) sauteed chicken tenders and real bacon. This was a big night for the girls...their first time to try salad!! :)

Madeline ate almost all of hers...honey dijon was her choice of dressing!! So proud of her for trying something new :) There is hope for those of us who have very picky eaters!!!

As you can see on her face...Mia is not quite there yet!!! She was still hung up on the texture of the lettuce. It probably didn't help that I put too much dressing either!! That's OK we'll keep trying...we are blessed that she is not normally a picky eater :)

Program Night at VBS...

Mia sitting with her class :)

Madeline invited our neighbor Roxanne to come with her...she was so happy she could come :)

Every night at VBS the kids are asked to bring pennies to support missionaries. The parents get involved and much more than "pennies" are brought as an offering! Each night they total up what the boys and girls give...friendly competition :) This year after 4 nights the grand total was over $800 dollars...Praise God!!!! This offering will go to a missionary family in the Dominican Rebublic for generators to provide electricity. What an awesome way to teach the children about the mission field and being obedient in giving to further the Kingdom of God!!! We are so grateful for the opportunity the girls have each summer to attend this week at VBS...The Lord pours into them & we witness the fruit from it all year long...God is so Good!!!!

Mia's class singing their song!

Madeline's class did a skit about the 7 days of Creation...Madeline is saying her part in the picture with DAY 6...you can't see her face!! :)

All the classes joined together for a couple of songs

This was during our tour of Madeline's room...the girls with Roxanne!

This was our stop into Mia's room!
