Day One in Smoky Mountains...

We were blessed to be able to get away before Roy's surgery. We drove to the Smoky Mountains and stayed in Gatlinburg. We had an amazing stay and saw and did so much! It was really hard to come home...we really love it there :)

This was a sporting store in Northern Georgia that we looked around in...had to take a break with all the driving!

This is in Cherokee, NC the entrance into the National Park we entered through to get across the mountain into Gatlinburg, TN

Some of our first views inside the park up on top of the mountains :)

We are a tunnel loving family!

This is one of the things I miss most...driving next to this wonderful & tranquil stream with all the beautiful rocks.

The girls loved seeing this horse trailer!

This is Cades Cove, still inside the national park.

A deer in the background...

...one up close!

A visitors station in Cades Cove

Little mountain munchkins :)

Some of the settlement homes

One of our first days in the park we counted 90 something deer in Cades Cove!

They wanted to get closer than this!

This place is blessed with so much beauty...I can't imagine anyone being bored living there!

At dusk

I loved this sign...reminds me of our relationship with the Lord...it is a 2 way street :)

These turkeys were so cool to see...Roy was able to call them in and the one gobbler was raising all his feathers...simply beautiful!

What an awesome place...

This was the first bear we saw of the two on our trip!

A little closer up...one guy went up with his camera phone 10 ft. from the bear...that is out of control!!!

This was coming out of Cades Cove

It is so cool that these travel in pairs or mates :)
