Icicles in Florida???

Bbbrrrrrrrr...it is cold this morning!!!!!!!!!!

Our low this morning was supposed to be 24 degrees. So my hubby thought it would be fun to have some icicles! He helped out a bit by placing our sprinkler on the roof and at about 5 am...WOW!!... it was like being back in the Smoky Mountains on vacation!! Well, sort of...good memories at least!! :)

These were the longest above the girls bedroom window...about 4 or 5 in. long.

It was still dark out...hard to tell here.

Be My Valentine?

We made some Valentine cupcakes early. We needed to try them and make sure they would be alright for a Valentine Party we are going to soon. We wouldn't want to share them if they weren't good, right? Sounds like a good excuse to eat them...lol!! :)

No, Molly...no cupcakes for you!! You are already sweet enough. :)

Week 4

It was a great week trying to meet each others love languages. I really thought about it a lot...not just Roy's, the girls too. Mia and I didn't make it to class this week...she has been sick with the yucky virus and high fever. She is much better now and Madeline had caught it too... for a much shorter time though.

Week 4 is called The Father's Mandate it is a very important week for all the Dad's.
Some of the things covered are Quality vs. Quantity Time and Learning to Build Trust...which explains the 8 Mandates of a Father:

2. Demonstrate an Ongoing Love For Your Wife
3. Understand Your Child's Private World
4. Give Your Child The Freedom To Fail
5. Encourage Your Child
6. Guard Your Tongue and Your Tone
7. Routinely Embrace Your Child
8. Build Trust on God's Word

Key Principle The quality and quantity of trust our children have in us is the only legitimate benchmark measuring our relationship with them.

Our homework this week is to sit down as a couple and out of the eight non-negotiable duties choose three to work on this week. Share next week how our children responded.
