VBS Performance Night

June 22, 2009
Hooray...it's VBS WEEK!

I am slowly, but surely catching up on the posts for the past month or so. :)
In the meantime, I wanted to document this week at VBS. The girls really look forward to this special time all year long. Another really fun theme has been chosen for the kids this year! I am looking forward to their joyful faces and the excitement in their voice when we pick them up this evening and they share all about what they've learned, the friends they've seen and the new ones they've met.
In Polar Extremes they will have teachings & activities in the areas of trust, obedience, joy, forgiveness, and love. The theme verse for the week- “Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength... Love thy neighbor as thyself” (Mark 12:30, 31).
I pray that the Lord blesses this church-the Pastor & his family, and all the families & individuals who will passionately give of their time this week to invest in the lives of these children for the Kingdom. For wisdom, strength & patience for all those teaching & serving in any way. I am so grateful to this church that has open doors and such giving hearts. Lord, I pray for salvation to come to these little ones this week in Jesus name- Amen.

Kids Summer Camp at B.P.S

It's not that our kids need some fun activity to encourage them to visit B.P.S. (Bass Pro Shop). Any day off that Daddy has becomes a possibility for that question to be asked...can we go to B.P.S. today?!! :) This was one of those days back in June.
However, in this case they were offering these cool 30 minute workshops for free. Each workshop was paired up with a scavenger hunt to find the clues for the answers in their book. Once their book was filled in, they were awarded a collectors pin.

This was the first workshop of the three we got to participate in. Animal Identification...all 4 of us learned some new things.

This young man facilitated the next two which were Camping and Hiking. These were very informative & interesting. It addressed some of my fears too...what an added bonus!!
They gave the kids a book with each workshop...sort of like a coloring book with neat info too. We really enjoyed this family event and hope that they offer this again next summer.
